This is Takazudo Modular Highlights vol.3 (distributed June 18, 2024).

This is an archive of the newsletter sent through our Mercari Shops. While we call it an archive, the Mercari newsletter has various limitations, so this is an optimized article for the web.

Here are the contents of Vol.3.

This is Takazudo Modular Highlights vol.3 (distributed June 18, 2024).

This issue is all about the sale!

June Sale and Eligible Products

The sale started yesterday, June 17 at 10:00, and runs until June 24 at 00:00. Many products are 10% off, so please take a look.

Our shop's general policy is not to hold sales, but this particular sale is a Mercari Shops-wide campaign where Mercari Shops reimburses the 10% discount back to each store. Essentially, the Mercari Shops platform itself is contributing the 10% discount, so we only hold sales when such campaigns are available.

Regarding eligible products — in our previous newsletter we said "all products," but that was incorrect, and we apologize. Products need to have been listed for a certain period to be eligible. Specifically, all recently added Weston Precision Audio products and Takazudo Modular's acrylic cases and blank panel 4-piece sets were not eligible for this sale. We apologize for the error and appreciate your understanding.

Below, we'd like to introduce some recommended products that are on sale.

OXI ONE

First up is OXI ONE from OXI Instruments.

This was the first product we carried when we opened the shop last September — a versatile sequencer. With hardware like this, the level of bug fixes and feature additions depends entirely on the manufacturer, and some products unfortunately don't receive much ongoing support.

In that regard, OXI ONE continues to receive active firmware updates to this day and is supported by many fans. While it might seem expensive for just a sequencer, we can confidently recommend it as having performance and quality worthy of its price.

ADDAC112 VC Looper & Granular Processor

ADDAC System's ADDAC112 is a looper & granular processor. It sold out quickly during the last restock, but we were able to restock it last month.

I, Takazudo, make it a policy to personally try each product we stock and write fairly detailed descriptions. This module took quite a while to understand, so I ended up spending a lot of time with it over the past 2-3 months.

As you can see, this module has many jacks and knobs, offering a wide variety of controls as a looper & granular processor. Personally, I feel this module is like a new instrument in itself. If you're interested, I'd love for you to try it.

ADDAC207 Intuitive Quantizer

ADDAC System's 4-channel quantizer, ADDAC207 Intuitive Quantizer, also sold out quickly during the last restock, so we've restocked it.

With 4 channels, it's convenient when working with multiple oscillators, and the large, easy-to-press buttons are also great for performance. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quality quantizer.

ADDAC304 Manual Gates / ADDAC305 Manual Latches

In my plan for ADDAC System, I've been gradually adding basic modules. The newly stocked Manual Gates and Manual Latches from last month are the very basics — simple modules that output 5V CV when you press a button.

They're very simple modules, but personally, I consider the time spent combining simple buttons and faders like these and experimenting with how to achieve what I want to be one of the most enjoyable aspects of using modular synths. Their simplicity gives them wide versatility.

There are many more products I'd like to recommend, but due to length constraints, that's all for today. I hope you'll take this opportunity to check out various products.

See you next time.
